The City is now accepting applications for the following positions:

PT Building Supervisor (Recreation Department)

An employee in this position supervises scheduled activities and is the City’s point of contact during these activities. Hours are mainly evenings and weekends according to activities that are scheduled. Position is open until filled.

PT Property Maintenance Worker (Recreation Department)

An employee in this position is responsible for mowing, trimming and various duties related to the maintenance and upkeep of the City parks. Position is open until filled.

Sanitation Worker (Public Works)

An employee in this position works as a member of a crew led by a Sanitation Equipment Operator in loading and unloading refuse over an established route. Applicant must hold a valid NC Class C Driver’s License. Position is open until filled.

Firefighter Applicant Pool

Applications are now being accepted to establish an eligibility list (Applicant Pool) from which periodic selections will be made as positions become available.
Desired qualifications are:
* Certifications for NC Firefighter II
* HAZMAT Operations
* NC Class B Driver’s License
Will consider candidates with considerably less qualifications if they are willing to work toward completion of certifications prior to employment. All applicants must be of good character, be in good physical condition, and pass a drug test. Applicants will be notified by mail once a testing date has been set in November of 2008.
