New Fees:TJ Davis Rec:After hours building/Gym rentals: Roanoke Rapids Parks & Recreation ID Card InformationCity of Roanoke Rapids Recreation photo ID Card is required for free play and game room use. ID card also required to enter Aquatic Center at resident rate. Fee $3.00. Proof of residency inside the city limits of Roanoke Rapids is required. Proof of residency may be shown by providing: (1) NC Driver's License and/or NC ID with current and correct address, or (2) providing current utility bill with correct address and picture ID. If you are under 18 years of age your parent or legal guardian must be present to sign ID card. The Roanoke Rapids Recreation Department will not be responsible for lost or stolen cards. Replacement cards cost $6.00. Exercise to MusicClasses meet monthly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Check the TJ Davis calendar for current schedule. WILDLIFE RESOURCE COMMISSION PROGRAMSHunter Safety Course Classes are offered during select months on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6 - 9pm at the Halifax 4H Rural Life Center; Hwy 903. You must attend all three nights to be certified. Class required for first time license buyers ages 12 and up. Class teaches safety at home and in field, first aid, woodsmanship, and wildlife. Course is free but you must pre-register by calling TJ Davis Recreation Center at 252-533-2847. Boating Safety Course Required for operation of personal watercraft for persons of at least 12 years of age but under 16 years of age. No person under 12 years of age can operate a PWC on the waters of North Carolina. Classes held at the Halifax 4H Rural Life Center; Hwy 903. Course is free but you must pre-register by calling TJ Davis Recreation Center at 252-533-2847 Course may be taken via internet at www.boatus.com Check the TJ Davis calendar for a current schedule of both classes. GYM RESERVATIONSThe gym may be reserved by groups, except during regular business hours and when the department does not have other scheduled programs. For more information call 533-2847. PICNIC SHELTER RESERVATIONSReservations for Emry, Rochelle, and Chockoyotte Park shelters may be made by city residents for $15 per day, non-residents $30 per day. This allows exclusive use of the picnic shelter and access to restroom facilities. Proof of residency required. Reservations must be made in person at TJ Davis Recreation Center. SPECIAL PROGRAMSCheck the TJ Davis calendar for a current schedule of programs. KINGS DOMINION DISCOUNT TICKETSTickets may be purchased at the Jo Story Senior Center, 701 Jackson Street. Tickets are available during the entire operating season. Tickets are good for most operating days at the park. |
