When there is substantial evidence on both sides, the City Council makes its determination as to which is correct when making its final decision.

Public Service Announcement
The Roanoke Rapids Fire Department will begin our annual hydrant testing on Monday, March 25, 2019. This process consists of taking pressure readings on each hydrant which allows the fire department to check performance. Testing also helps with locating valves that may be closed, which would restrict water flow for firefighting purposes.
Please check your tap water for discoloration before drinking, bathing or washing clothes. If your water is discolored, turn the cold water tap on until the water runs clear.
We hope to finish with hydrant testing by May 31, 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and if you have any questions please contact the Roanoke Rapids Fire Department at 533-2880.
