Parks & Recreation Director Parks & Recreation |
The City of Roanoke Rapids is seeking an experienced recreation executive to lead and help shape the future of Roanoke Rapids Parks & Recreation as our next Parks & Recreation Director! This position guides and supports all aspects of the Roanoke Rapids Parks & Recreation Department to achieve its mission to provide well-rounded programming for all ages and to provide safe, attractive and clean park, recreational, library and museum facilities. As a department head, the Parks & Recreation Director reports to the City Manager and actively contributes as a member of the City Leadership team in achieving citywide goals and objectives established by Roanoke Rapids City Council. Job Duties
Typical Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in park & recreation management, natural resource management, public administration or another closely related field Certifications: Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP), Certified Park and Recreational Executive (CPRE) and/or other applicable national or state-level certifications Experience: a minimum of seven (7) years of Parks & Recreation experience with at least five (5) years in a supervisory/management role or an equivalent combination of education, certifications and years of experience Other Requirements: possession of a valid North Carolina drivers license and primary residence is located within a reasonable distance to Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina within first twelve (12) months of employment TO APPLY: Please submit a letter of interest along with resume and completed City of Roanoke Rapids application to the City of Roanoke Rapids Human Resources Department. Firefighter Applicant Pool |
The City of Roanoke Rapids is accepting Firefighter applications to establish an eligibility list (applicant pool) from which selections will be made as positions become available. An employee in this position performs general fire fighting work including but not limited to preparing equipment for responding to fire calls, fighting fires, fire salvage and equipment/ fire vehicle maintenance. (Part Time) Building Supervisor Parks & Recreation |
An employee in this position may include any of the Parks & Recreation facilities: - T J Davis Recreation - Aquatic Center - Jo Story Senior Center - Chaloner Recreation Center - Canal Museum - Roanoke Rapids Public Library - Kirkwood Adams Community Center - Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall This employee will supervise scheduled activities and is the City's point of contact during these activities. Hours are mainly evenings and weekends according to activities that are scheduled.
